About this deal

Although I want each of my Star Wars books to be a great entry point for new readers, I also love adding Easter eggs for longtime fans. This is not an illustrated novel so most of the images you’ll see are for illustrative purposes. However, the last segment includes panels from the Darth Vader comics by Charles Soule. Plot Preview Supreme Martial Commander of the Separatist Droid Armies (Mentioned only) (First identified as Supreme Martial Commander of the Separatist Army)

But mainly what I want is a name for that Twi’lek Inquisitor. Without spoilers, his relationship with Iskat is very interesting in Darth Vader. I absolutely need those details, because there is a lot of story to be told there. Honestly, if the entire book is about him and Iskat, I’ll be one happy camper. I’ve always felt different — I used to tell my mom I felt like an alien who didn’t quite know how to belong. Over the past few years, I’ve learned that I’m not neurotypical. I have ADHD and synesthesia and am probably on the autism spectrum (judging by 17 online tests and what my therapist and research tell me), and I have anxiety and PTSD. I’m highly sensitive, am usually daydreaming, and am either 100% focused or bored out of my mind. Getting a diagnosis helped me understand why I had so much trouble making friends as a kid, and why creative work has always been my safe space.Inquisitor: Rise of the Red Blade is haunting, cynical, and unforgiving. It takes us from one side of the Force to the other while making consequences clear and understandable, no matter how difficult. It lets us understand how a person can find themselves at home in the most unexpected places. Choice, freedom, connections, and empathy are all strong themes explored by Akaris. Dawson once again gives us another amazing tale of a character choosing to walk the darkest path. What makes it even worse is the fact that some strange insectoid figures crawl the wall of the cave, it looks like they’re avoiding the light from the outside. These creatures already make me want to read the book, I wonder if they’re guarding this place or perhaps they were created there. Star Wars: Quest for Planet X (The High Republic) cover reveal Because she appealed to me—woman to woman. Now she will never trust another woman again…or likely, anyone. I took her baby, and I took her soul." ―Iskat Akaris, to Tualon Yaluna, explaining her actions [5]

Obviously, the mastermind behind the war couldn’t spend his time with multiple Jedi Knights the way he did with Anakin. Instead, he introduced his spies inside the Jedi Temple. Not Jedi but staff with enough access to hear and learn many things that could prove very useful to the Chancellor. As an Inquisitor, Iskat finds the freedom she has always craved: to question, to want. And with each strike of her red blade, Iskat moves closer to claiming her new destiny in the Force-whatever the cost. Read more Look Inside Details Lord Vader grabs both of them and make them impale each other with their lightsabers. A sad, tragic and some could even say poetic ending to Iskat and Tualon. This book is a tragedy, and you see the events unfolding throughout. Iskat tries to uncover information about her past, and you just know that won't be happy information to uncover. She also is forced to confront those she has known her whole life as a Jedi. It is difficult to read some scenes, with how dark they can get, but I appreciate that Dawson doesn't quite dwell on the darker elements like some of the other Star Wars authors. If you are a fan of easter eggs, Dawson fills this book with plenty, not only to the Clone Wars series, but to later eras in the canon, and even some Legends connections. There were references to Mike Chen's "Brotherhood" that were excellently and organically included. Dawson has proved that she really can write whatever era she is given (and whatever sub-genre).This book took a character, who feels her potential is not being used as it should, and who is The cover for Star Wars: Cataclysm by Lydia Kang is one of the covers that were revealed. This novel is part of Phase II of the High Republic multimedia project, it is scheduled to release on April 2023. This book started with a simple terrifying question. 'Why would a Jedi *decide* to become an INQUISITOR?'" ―Tom Hoeler [6]
