About this deal

Undeniably corny but still a masterpiece Rex's second album and his best work, Apricot Princess has some of the most inspiring vocals and instrumentals from "Indie" music. The album has corny moments, but do not subtract from the project at all. Instead often feeling relatable and unpretentious, making his work far more enjoyable. Selected items are only available for delivery via the Royal Mail 48® service and other items are available for delivery using this service for a charge. The orchestral intro of "Apricot Princess" is great—and then the song keeps going. And the theme of this album is really just "great song with one big, unignorable flaw." To be specific: "Television / So Far So Good" has a cheesy rap interlude (although it's not like this album isn't pure cheese), "Untitled" is too singer/songwriter-y (his voice really shouldn't stand on its own), and the slam on "4 Seasons" is a bizarre way to transition from the (quite disconnected) sections of the song.

the albums release was fairly rough, with troubles on the singers part with the album coming out on all streaming services at the same time as first intended. Apricot Princess friggin pretty great Oh where to begin, first listen of Apricot Princess it's a damn good first impression. (I have listened to this album a multitude of times and taken a look at the lyrics too)critical reception was very good and the album held up with sales, debuting as such on the following charts. Maybe you know Rex Orange County, maybe you don’t. If you don’t, you should really get to know him. The English singer-songwriter has played in Frank Ocean’s live band, performed with British grime-rapper Skepta, collaborated with Tyler the Creator and Chance the Rapper and has sold out shows on both sides of the Atlantic. He also recently released a cover of “ You’ve Got A Friend In Me” with Randy Newman himself, as you can see below.

Apricot Princess comes before "Pony" in which we hear many more string melodies, and after "Bcos U Will Never B Free" which had a much more lo-fi feel. The album sits in the perfect balance between the two, utilizing string sections without sacrificing the raw vocals and intricate guitar parts. I think for a lot of people Rex Orange County's voice has that endearingly earnest Astrud Gilberto quality, but the thing is that I never actually liked her voice all that much, and I get more of a Donald Fagen vibe from this album anyway (which I mean somewhat pejoratively?).
